In 2021, Maison Catanzaro had the chance to collaborate, during the first MADAME XY collection, with Julien de Bomenari!

Creature of the night? DJ? Party organizer? One thing is for sure, a very kind and passionate person to whom we give the floor in order to introduce himself to you!

Who is Julien?
Hello everyone! My name is Julien de Bomerani, originally from Montpellier. I am a DJ, event organizer and my particularity is that I practice my profession as a drag queen.

Being a DJ, how did that come to you? Before being a DJ (which I have been for 5 years), I was a performer for about 10 years. I did shows in clubs, cabarets, street artist companies, for meals for the elderly organized by town halls, etc. But I always secretly wanted to touch music. By creating the event "Folle de Rage" and having a precise idea of ​​the music that should be played there, and at the same time having met people in the DJing world who taught me the basics of the profession, that's how I started as a DJ... And so my first time was during the premiere of "Folle de Rage" .

What are your musical tendencies and tastes?
I oscillate from pop music to house to disco. I don't really prepare before my DJ sets, I'm there to build the event with the people present and the vibe that there is in the room, that we party together in short. My music is composed of new songs (I like to play songs that came out the day before on Saturday night) mixed with classics known to all as well as lesser known but very effective songs: I like it when there's singing and dancing! And sometimes even end with a touch of kitsch at the end of the evening.

DJ in a club? Just in France?
I am a resident at several events: La Folle de Rage in Montpellier and La Fierce in Paris, I am also one of the resident DJs at the Gibus Club in Paris but I am not there every weekend. I am lucky enough to mix everywhere in France… from Lille to Nice, via Quimper, Metz, Paris, Toulouse… And also abroad: I recently mixed in Canada, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain… And I hope to discover even more countries and cities in the future!

Do you have an anecdote from a night out?
Pay close attention to how I arrive… but even more how I leave! I always arrive with beautiful, well-arched and high heels… but I often leave in sneakers! Especially when I mix for a long time… The glamour takes a hit (and my height too)

Your best memory as a DJ?
I have tons! But I admit that my highlight of the year 2024, although I have experienced several fantastic moments this year, is still in June when we did the "Folle de Rage" at the Zenith in Montpellier... A first for a festive LGBT+ event in France. Beyond being part of the organization, I was also a presenter and DJ... a very, very strong moment of sharing and communion.

How did you find out about the Maison Catanzaro brand?
My story with Maison Catanzaro goes back to… my beginnings (15 years ago)! I was starting out in drag and shows and, to find costumes, people had recommended Cap D’Agde to me, especially the naturist camp and its shops where you could find clothes like nowhere else! Once there, I was drawn to a store with clothes that I found very beautiful… At the time, it was a “Patrice Catanzaro” reseller store and I fell in love with a bodysuit that I kept for a very long time… and by chance: Patrice was also there, we were able to exchange a few words. I have always worn Catanzaro since then. And what a joy it was when I was contacted to pose for Madame XY’s number 1 collection (more than 10 years later)! The circle was complete.

What do you think of our collections?
I have never been disappointed! Quality clothing, easy to wear, and that perfectly hugs the body. Beyond that, the choice is varied, and the collections are often updated ... I never get tired of it.

Your opinion on the Madame XY collection? It's the first time to my knowledge that such a collection has been produced anywhere. It was a small revolution because we finally had so-called "feminine" clothing cut for so-called "masculine" bodies. So no need to rack your brains for 1000 years about the size only to realize that your shoulders, back or arms don't fit. Beyond that, you'll find both very sexy and very chic outfits! There's something for everyone.

What is your favorite outfit?
My favorite outfit? You're asking me a tricky question but I admit that I couldn't do without: The Mrs. Isabella dress (I have it in black and red), Mrs. Azia (black and red too), the Mrs. Julie bolero, the Mrs. Catherine top, the Mrs. Vanessa thong and the Mrs. Barbara mittens... okay I'll stop there (and besides I've seen lots of new things that catch my eye).

What are your future projects?
To continue to make party-goers from France and abroad dance as much as possible!
