Vincent is the "relationship man" of Maison Catanzaro. Whether for professional or private clients, he is the go-to person. Behind the social networks? That’s him. But above all, he is a close collaborator of Charlotte Catanzaro.
When did you start working for Maison Catanzaro, and how did you first discover the brand?
I joined Maison Catanzaro in 2017, although Patrice had already been my friend for several years. However, I first discovered the brand in 1994 through Les Plaisirs de Marlène, which brought together the trio Marlène, Patrice Catanzaro, and Christophe Mourthé. That’s a 30-year-old story!
What is your favorite part of your job, and what do you like the least?
Sorry, but there’s nothing I don’t enjoy about my job. However, I can mention two things I love: The first is guiding our new clients in their choices, especially those who are new to our world. Helping them discover items or materials they hadn’t thought of. The second is the exchange within our company—with my colleagues, in the past with Patrice, and now with Charlotte.
What was your previous job, and how did your career transition happen?
I was a farmer and an agricultural contractor in central France. Coming from a long line of farmers, I tried to follow the same path while also working as a DJ on the side. But farming is not an easy profession. It’s very intense, and it doesn’t always give back what you put into it over the year. My escape, whenever I could, was attending fetish events like the Montreal Fetish Week with Patrice and his wife, Aude. Over the years, through our travels and the brand’s fashion shows, a true friendship was born with them. I loved being there and helping out at different events.
In 2016, I lost a loved one. The following year was tough, and I struggled emotionally. Then came a simple sentence: “Come work with me, with us!” With my complicated personal life and the declining agricultural situation, the choice was clear. It was a radical life change, but after a few weeks of adjustment, an exciting new professional chapter began.
Does your private life play a role in your professional life?
Without hesitation, Yes! I try to provide the best answers to the most diverse questions—understanding someone who wants to cross-dress, for example, or a husband who wants to buy his first fetish outfit for his wife. Experience is important, but so is tolerance.
I have a personal life that some might find unconventional, but I’m proud of it. I live in a polyamorous relationship, yes—a trouple! I’ve been living with Christal and Céline (a transgender woman and one of our two models from the first Madame XY collection) for three years now. We are DarkTrouple. For me, the change in lifestyle has been complete. I live my passion through both my work and my personal life.
Can you share a funny work anecdote?
Does accidentally locking a colleague inside the workshop at night and leaving count? It wasn’t intentional, I swear! It was just an accident. I had to return to the company to set her free.
What are your favorite designs at Maison Catanzaro?
Without hesitation, the Volcanique dress and the Ouragan dress in red, in limited edition. The elegance of the Volcanique dress makes it perfect for special evenings, while the Ouragan dress has an irresistibly sexy character that highlights the feminine curves beautifully. My partner owns both!
How did you get into the fetish and BDSM world?
Wow, that’s quite the confession for a fetish man like me! Simply put, through a couple I used to work with, who were older than me. Because my eyes lingered a little too long on the lady’s leather dress, I soon found myself invited over for a drink. When I arrived at their place, I discovered that my friends were a little more into BDSM than I had imagined.
It was also through them that I discovered latex—back then, it wasn’t as smooth and lubed as today, more like vintage powdered latex, but the effect was just as striking! Thanks to them, I explored various practices. At that time, there were very few fetish-BDSM parties in France—Nuit Démonia at La Loco, for example. The fetish-BDSM world started coming out of private homes and basements with the rise of the internet and early social networks. Communities and events began to emerge. People finally dared to embrace their desires. Today, I’m a gamer, a dominant, and a passionate enthusiast—but never without my partner, who is also a dominant.
How has the fetish-BDSM scene evolved since then?
It has gone from the basement to the living room, so to speak. The dark and mysterious side is less present today—it has become more public. The internet exposes BDSM, for better and for worse. People try to sell fantasies at any cost. However, this evolution has also brought positive changes, such as increased awareness of certain practices and lifestyles. More people affirm their true identities.
The good news is that we are no longer seen as complete aliens. Fetish events are multiplying, and new players are emerging. The media speaks more openly about the subject, and even some mainstream film producers have addressed it. But for certain journalists, we are still just monkeys in a zoo.
Since you know many people in the scene, which clubs or events are your favorites?
For clubs, Le Triskel in northern France, which we featured in our December magazine, and KitKat in Berlin, Germany, where I had an unforgettable night during the German Fetish Ball.
For events, Weekend Démonia, of course, Fetish Factory in Miami, and Montreal Fetish Week. Montreal holds a special place in my heart, thanks to the French Team!
Is there a specific BDSM accessory brand you recommend?
It’s always difficult to recommend one brand over another because it depends on individual preferences and practices. Fortunately, we now have many talented artisans and passionate creators in France and across Europe.
There are plenty of erotic fairs in France where you can discover independent designers.
For Fetish, especially latex bondage, I recommend STUDIOGUM.
For creation, aside from Maison Catanzaro, I love House of Harlot and HW Design.
For BDSM Impact, SLAGWERK from the Netherlands, with whom we closely collaborate.
What advice would you give to someone interested in discovering the fetish-BDSM world?
The best way to explore is to attend events and meet people from the community! Not everyone actively plays during events, so you can start by having conversations.
The golden rule will always be: Everything is possible, but nothing is mandatory.
Many people say, "I’m alone, and I’m afraid of being judged at an event." But at these gatherings, everyone is equal. You just have to dare! It’s not easy, but I did it, and that’s how I met amazing people who became close friends.
You’re not the only one with kinks! Just like in vanilla life, communication is key.
Afraid of being recognized? Wear a hood or mask. You’ll remain anonymous but will have taken the first step. Life is too short not to explore new horizons!
You can also find a lot of information on www.fetlife.com (profiles, discussion forums, event listings). But watch out for fakes! Always research beforehand!
What are your future projects in the fetish-BDSM world?
For several months, Christal, Céline, and I have been working on launching a fetish and BDSM online store.
All products will come from selected creators and manufacturers and will be personally tested by us to ensure quality. “TESTED by DarkTrouple” will be our guarantee. Our key principles? Advice, communication, and helping everyone find what suits their needs and desires best.
