An erotic fair or event is often an opportunity to discover passionate individuals and artisans of all kinds.
Vince introduces you to the artisans he met in the aisles of the FetishMarket Démonia.
Introduced by a mutual acquaintance who was playing with two floggers in the market aisles, Camille and Julien welcome us to their stand!
My eyes immediately land on their different models of floggers among their many creations—paddles, handcuffs, harnesses, and jewelry.
"- It looks like inner tube rubber?"
"- That’s exactly what it is," they reply!
The first contact with their recycled material awakens the devil in me. After a friendly exchange with two passionate creators, the appointment is set—I have to test this on Céline’s buttocks! Let me introduce you to two wonderful people, Camille and Julien!
Who is behind Fessée Artisanale?
Can you introduce yourselves?
We are a male-female couple who work together in creative craftsmanship. Originally from Bordeaux and Mulhouse, we met in Paris six years ago while working in a team designing and creating event decor and installations. Julien is a trained carpenter and cabinetmaker as well as a painter, while Camille is a photographer and equestrian by training, and a self-taught artisan.
We now live in Dordogne, where we are renovating our barn while also developing Fessée Artisanale!
How did you start in the world of craftsmanship? And especially in BDSM?
We have always had a craftsman’s soul, with the desire to meet a specific demand while infusing our creations with our personality. Our travels helped us better understand ourselves and refine our creative aspirations.
We entered BDSM through the fetish world, drawn by its elegance, refinement, extravagance, and the pursuit of intense sensations. The lockdown allowed us to refine our first pieces, reconnect with what we had already crafted, and envision the future of our creations.
Our days were then filled with sketching, brainstorming, naughty naps, and rope discovery. Naturally, fully dressed and equipped, we found our way into the community through kinky events organized by different groups in the Southwest of France, Normandy, and eventually, the famous Parisian soirées like Les Goûters du Divin Marquis and Les Nuits Démonia.
Where did the idea of using recycled materials for your creations come from?
Upcycling, artistic repurposing, and artisanal creation have always been core values for us. Not having the financial means to invest in new materials has been the driving force behind our innovations—whether in art, vanilla furniture making, or now in BDSM craftsmanship.
It is important for us to work with existing materials, a concept opposite to traditional manufacturing. Our approach to creation is primarily inspired by materials and their shapes, which define our designs.
Using recycled materials involves the customer in an ethical process, allowing them to connect with our products through the history carried by the materials. Rubber, in particular, was an obvious choice for us—it's a fetish material celebrated in the BDSM world, with many advantages (black, striking, washable, vegan…).
Where can people find you?
For the past three years, kinky artisan markets have been popping up all over France, especially near us in Toulouse and Bordeaux, where we are always present. Of course, we also attended the Démonia Fetish Week, where we met Vince.
This year, you can find us at Érotix Brussels in April, the Occitan Fetish Festival in May, and France Femdom in June.
We are also expanding our points of sale, including:
- Démonia Paris
- La Clef des Charmes in Toulouse
- (Dé)boutonné(e)s in Strasbourg
- The Traffik Club in Lausanne
- Maison des Soupirs near Bordeaux
And, of course, our Etsy shop, Instagram (@fessee_artisanale), and soon our own website!
What are your future ambitions?
We aim to make a living from this passion, maintain a strong connection with custom creations, continue meeting our customers’ expectations, expand our sales points, and build partnerships.
Ultimately, our dream is to merge all our creative desires—fine arts, furniture making, architecture, woodworking, and metalwork—to design fully equipped Fessée Artisanale play furniture and dungeons. But above all, we want to enjoy life, live freely, and travel the world!
